As a Heartland Small Animal Rescue Volunteer, I agree to: *

Provide my volunteer service free of charge to Heartland Small Animal Rescue without expectation of compensation or reimbursement.

Abide by the rules and regulations for volunteers set forth in the volunteer handbook.

Hold harmless Heartland Small Animal Rescue, its Board of Directors, officers, and volunteers for any liability or claims, causes of action, and demands of any nature, whether known or unknown, arising out of or in connection with my volunteer activities on behalf of Heartland Small Animal Rescue.

Authorize Heartland Small Animal Rescue to use any photographs of me in its possession for public relations purposes.

Always exercise compassion and care when handling animals.

Uphold the philosophy and values of Heartland Small Animal Rescue.

Attend proper training seminars as scheduled by Heartland Small Animal Rescue

Not to represent Heartland Small Animal Rescue outside my immediate volunteer capacity.

Assume the possible risks of volunteering with and handling domesticated animals. While Heartland Small Animal Rescue does everything in its power to reduce those risks, I understand there is still a risk of injury, damage, or disease, and I release Heartland Small Animal Rescue, its Board of Directors, and volunteers from any claim or future claim resulting from my volunteer work.

I understand state and/or local laws and ordinances must be followed in all volunteer duties. If I am not certain of what to do in a certain situation, I will ask a member of the Board of Directors for clarification.

All records of animals, vetting, volunteers, and adopters & supporters are considered confidential and will not be shared with other parties.

I understand my email address and/or phone number may be shared with other volunteers in the organization for communication and event coordination purposes.

I understand that volunteers age 14-17 MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian when volunteering.

I have received and read a copy of the Heartland Small Animal Rescue Volunteer Handbook.
